Screaming Tea Party

About

Screaming Tea Party was a London-based noise-pop band active between 2006 and 2010. Formed by Japanese musician Koichi Yamanoha (vocals, bass), along with Niiyan (guitar) and Teresa Colamonaco (drums), the band combined elements of punk and psychedelia with a raw, melodic sensibility. Their music was known for its balance of nursery rhyme-like melodies and chaotic bursts of distortion, drawing influences from Japanese underground noise rock and the UK alternative scene.

Screaming Tea Party released two EPs, Death Egg (2007) and Golden Blue (2009), via a British independent record label, Stolen Recordings. Both received attention for their energetic sound and genre-blurring approach. The band became known for their intense, unpredictable, and destructive live performances, earning a cult following. The band disbanded in 2010. - Phoebe Leigh
