Sara Lee

English bass player and singer from a small town in the West Midlands. Daughter of 2 music teachers, she played tympani and double bass in school until she discovered the electric bass guitar. Robert Fripp discovered her when she was working at Polydor Records and asked her to join The League Of Gentlemen.


Sara went on to work with Robyn Hitchcock and Gang Of Four in England, and later moved to the United States. In 1996 and 1997 she toured with Ani DiFranco and played with many other artists, including The B-52's, Indigo Girls, Joan Osborne, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Fiona Apple, and the Thompson Twins.

She released her solo debut, on Righteous Babe Records, in 2000.
