Filipino rock singer from the Philippines during the 1970s and 1980s. Sampaguita started out as a model under then-First Lady Imelda Marcos' 'Bagong Anyo' program. She was discovered by producer and her future husband Nilo Santos, who led her to record her first album. Her stage name was coined by the percussionist Nick Boogie.
