Samuel Sweetsinger Bell
Popular Philadelphia singer and songwriter (b. 1924) took ill at the peak of his career and was told by doctors that he had only a few days to live because of liver cancer. He received a message from God that if he would serve him God would heal him. He survived, changed his performing name to Samuel Sweetsinger Bell, and began composing gospel songs.
