Salon Niezależnych
Salon Niezależnych

Polish student cabaret existing in the years 1967-1976, consisting of: [a=Jacek Kleyff] and from 1970 [a=Michał Tarkowski] (formerly a member of the cabaret was Roman Walisiak) - then students of architecture, and [a=Janusz Weiss] - then a student of Polish studies. Group was awarded many times: at the Student Song Festival in Cracow in 1972 and at the festival FAMA in 1971, 1973 and 1974. It also performed at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole in 1973, where it received the "Golden Pin". Band was harassed by the communist authorities because of the political overtones of their skits and songs. In 1972, the broadcast of the Student Song Festival in Cracow was interrupted when appeared on the stage. In 1976, the cabaret was banned from performing because its members signed the so-called Letter 59. On December 5, 1998 at the Studio of the name Agnieszka Osiecka (Program 3 of the Polish Radio), a special concert dedicated to the cabaret Salon Niezależnych was held. After almost thirty years of break, co-authors of this cabaret (Kleyff and Tarkowski) returned to their joint artistic work. In 2003 and 2004, together with the ensemble [a=Orkiestra Na Zdrowie], they staged a performance at the Theater "Studio" in Warsaw under the title "Kinoteatrzyk by Jacek Kleyff and Michał Tarkowski".
