Singer/songwriter and guitarist, born in Asunción, Paraguay on April 26, 1927.
His first proper experience as musician came in the form of a Boy Scouts' ensemble under the leadership of Paí Pérez. By the end of the fourties, Rubito had found himself in several groups and recorded extensively in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1955, a fellow ex-Boy Scout by the name of Luis Mesa (who by now had assumed the stage name Luis Alberto Del Parana) recruited him to join his new band, leading to tours of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Rubito quit the Paraguyaos in 1962 to form his own Los Guaireños band in Barcelona, and in 1964 he finally returned to his home country where he co-founded APA (Autores Paraguayos Asociados, the Paraguayan Authors Association).
Also appears as Reinaldo Medina.
Rubito Medina passed away in Asunción on December 18, 1986.
