Roger A. Smith (6 July 1949 - 9 April 2014) was an English cellist.

He was a member of Kent County Youth Orchestra before he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. He then joined the Menuhin Festival Orchestra. He later joined The Academy Of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. He also was a member of the Gagliano Trio for many years. Classically trained, he also did freelance work for such acts as Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, and U2.
