The band was created after Pollard had disbanded GBV in 2014. The project was established to incorporate progressive rock and hard rock elements alongside Pollard's typical indie-rock pieces. The project was officially established with the release of their debut album, "I Sell the Circus," in 2015. The band has released three albums in total, though the future of the project is in question as GBV have now reformed. The project, as a result, is likely to be on an indefinite hiatus.
