Richard Page

Richard Page (born May 16, 1953 in Keokuk, Iowa) is an American singer, musician and songwriter. Together with his friend Steve George, Richard Page backed up as vocalists a lot of west coast music artists on their albums. They also were a team as songwriters and wrote many hits for different artists. They formed the group [a=Pages (2)] in 1978 and released three albums.

In 1982, Page and George formed a new band Mr. Mister together with guitarist Steve Farris and drummer Pat Mastelotto. The band recorded its debut album, I Wear a Face, in 1984. The second album Welcome to the Real World was the band’s big break, "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie" both hit number one and were followed by the Top Ten "Is This Love". After one more album, Go On, Mr. Mister disbanded in 1989.

From 1990s, Page has continued to work as a songwriter and backing vocalist for other artists. He has also released four studio albums as a solo artist.

During Mr. Mister's heyday in mid-1980s, Page was offered the position as a lead singer in Toto and later in [a=Chicago (2)], but he turned down the offers to focus on his own band.

In 2001 “Broken Wings” was reloaded by Stephen Singer under the trance act [a=E-Motion (6)] and as of 2010 Page was hired by the same producer to do cover remakes for the Australian dance label LNG Music as the years went by.
