African-American singer and harmonica player, born c. 1887 in Livingston, Alabama, with both secular and gospel material, as well as folk tales, toasts, etc.
He was recorded by the Library of Congress in 1937 and 1940 (few of these recordings have been released), and again by Harold Courlander in 1950 (released on Folkways LPs).
