Reuben Reeves

American jazz trumpeter, born October 25, 1905 in Evansville, Indiana, died September 1975 in New York. Worked with [a=Erskine Tate] 1926-1928 and [a=Dave Peyton] 1927-1930 in Chicago, joined [a=Cab Calloway] in New York, returned to Chicago to lead own groups 1933-1935. From late 1930 until end of World War II played with and led army bands, then worked with [a=Harry Dial]. Ceased to work full-time in music 1952.
