Canadian (Québec) singer and songwriter born June 26, 1947 (Drummondville) and died December 18, 2021 (Saint-Hyacinthe, severe pneumonia, aged 74). Daughter of country singers Marcel Martel and Noëlla Therrien.

Undeniable queen of Quebec country music also nicknamed "La Cowgirl Dorée" and singer of the remarkable success "Un Amour Qui Ne Veut Pas Mourir".
With a career spanning more than 65 years, she has long left an indelible mark on the history of Quebec music with a repertoire that combines both modernity and respect for tradition.
In a relationship with the singer Jean Malo, she also experienced a difficult breakup in 1971. From 1971 to 1976, Martel and Jean-Guy Chapados formed a couple from whom a son, Dominique Chapados, was born.
