Ray Henderson was a pianist and an American composer. In 1925, Henderson became one third of the songwriting team with lyricists Lew Brown and Buddy G. De Sylva. DeSylva, Brown and Henderson became one of the top Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the era.

Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
