Many of the musicians in Randy Pie were also involved in the experimental rock albums of Achim Reichel. Bassist Manfred Thiers had come from the hard-rock progressive band [a=Gash (3)]. Their debut album contained a wide-ranging collection of prog, blues and fusion tracks, whereas subsequent albums veered towards soul and funk.
