Three years later he joined [l21163], working in A&R and promotion as assistant sales manager. Founded the record company [l624631] as well as the labels [l72871], [l775490], [l49885], and [l178543]. Founded the publishing companies [l432263] (BMI), [l895863] (ASCAP), and [l498074] (SESAC). In 1966, following the bankruptcy of [l34488], Wood and Betty Chiapetta (the Vee-Jay comptroller) founded Modern Distributors to buy the assets of the label.
