Czech conductor. Born June 29, 1914 in Býchory near Kolín (Bohemia, former Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Czech Republic), died August 11, 1996 in Kastanienbaum LU, Switzerland. Son of Czech violinist and composer Jan Kubelík. Emigrated in 1948 after the Communist takeover of Czechoslovakia, lived mainly in Switzerland and in the U.S. After the death in 1961 of his first wife, the violinist [url=https://cs.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludmila_Bertlov%C3%A1]Ludmila Bertlová[/url], he married Australian soprano Elsie Morison in 1963.
