    Powell Weaver (10 June 1890, Clearfield, Pennsylvania — 22 December 1951, Kansas City, Missouri) was an American organist, composer, and pianist, triple [url=https://discogs.com/label/1655752]MacDowell Fellow[/url] (1926, 1927, and 1934). He studied at the [url=https://discogs.com/label/477743]Institute of Musical Art[/url] in New York, learning organ with Gaston Dethier and composition with Marjorie Goetschius. In later years, Powell took private lessons with Pietro Alessandro Yon and traveled to Italy for further studies under Ottorino Respighi. Between 1918 and 1938, Weaver served as an organist at [url=https://discogs.com/label/1774050]Grand Avenue United Methodist Temple[/url] in Kansas City, presiding over the 1912 four-manual Ernest M. Skinner's organ, the oldest intact instrument by the master.
