Poisonblack

A heavy metal/rock band from Oulu, Finland, founded in 2000 by Ville Laihiala. Originally more of a goth metal group, Poisonblack was a musical outlet for songs that were not suitable for Laihiala's then main band Sentenced. Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto was hired to sing on the debut album 'Escapexstacy' (2003), after which Laihiala took over the vocals as well and from there on their sound started to shift towards more traditional heavy metal/hard rock. After Sentenced split-up in 2005, Poisonblack became Laihiala's main band and altogether they released six albums between 2003-2013 before going on an indefinite hiatus in August 2015. In autumn 2023 Poisonblack reunited for a string of live shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album.
