Peter Phippen is an American flutist, living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Phippen specializes in traditional wooden flutes, both ancient and contemporary. Among these are the Chinese/Japanese shakuhachi bamboo flute, the Irish Olwell bamboo flute, West African whistles and the native American flutes played by Coyote Oldman. These are the basis for his (electronic) ambient new age music.
