Per Gudmundson

Swedish folk musician and fiddler and plays Swedish bagpipes, born July 30, 1955. He grew up in Falun but above all is rooted in the folk music tradition from Rättvik. Started together with Magnus Bäckström the record company Giga in 1976. He trained as a dentist but developed allergies and could not work in the profession. The allergy also resulted in hypersensitivity to violin resin, which led Per Gudmundson to explore the Swedish bagpipe together with Leif Eriksson in the 1980s. The resin allergy subsided, and Gudmundson was able to resume playing the violin. Project leader (1997-2003) together with Jonas Holmén in the work of creating a Folkmusikens hus (FMH) in Rättvik. Chief Operating Officer of FMH since 2004.
