Was an American jazz electric bassist and composer.
Founding member of the jazz-funk band [a=The Herbie Hancock Group] who recorded the epic album "[m=19493]" & later released material as [a=The Headhunters] in the 1970s. Since 1985, he moved his residence to Japan and continued to be active in many aspects of the Japanese music scene.
