Oma Hans was a Punk Band from Hamburg and existed from 2001 to 2006. The band was formed in 2001 by singer Jens Rachut and guitarist Andreas Ness, who had previously played together in Dackelblut, and also consisted of Peta Devlin (bass, vocals) and Armin Nagel (drums). The band got the attention of some feature pages through a long-simmering feud between Kettcar and Oma Hans, which began with the Kettcar song Skateboard (“Let’s go and see jensen barcelona/ the players now cost eight hundred billion/ but he doesn’t care”) .Oma Hans accused Kettcar of fixating on the state of affairs and that politics was left out. This happened explicitly in 2005 with the song Gummiwellen blasting with the lines "Jetties/ Depressive anecdotes/ That don't help anyone/ Except money", whereupon Kettcar again on the B-side of their hit single 48 hours with Why actually indie charts, Digger? answered. In the spring of 2006, Oma Hans were on a farewell tour known as the Last Round, which ended on March 17, 2006 in Hamburg. Rachut and Ness also worked at the same time on Kommando Sonnenmilch – originally only planned as a studio project. In the spring of 2014, Oma Hans gave several more concerts: two benefit concerts in Berlin's SO36 for the burned-down festival hall in Kreuzberg, as well as other concerts in Cologne, Hanover and Hamburg. The band emphasizes that these performances are expressly not about a reunion.
