Old Man's Child

About

Norwegian melodic black metal band from Jessheim/Oslo, founded in 1993. The foundation of the band was discovered in 1989 when Galder/Grusom (Thomas Rune Andersen Orre) and Tjodalv (Ian Kenneth Åkesson) founded a Metallica/Slayer cover band called Requiem. By 1993 they had become a death metal band and later that year changed their style to black metal and became Old Man's Child. Excluding the band's early years in the mid to late 1990's, Old Man's Child has been very much a solo project of Galder, who typically used the help of session musicians on albums and tours. Despite being more occupied as guitarist in Dimmu Borgir, Galder kept Old Man's Child alive until 2009, after which the band has not released new music.
