Death metal band from Tampa, Florida. Formed in 1985 as Executioner, then changed spelling to Xecutioner, the band changed their name to Obituary shortly before the release of their first album in 1989. Disbanded in 1997, although a live album surfaced a year later. In 2005 the band reformed, and has continued to tour and release new material.
