Swedish professional big band within Norrbottensmusiken.
The artistic director of the band is the saxophonist and professor of improvisation Joakim Milder. Previous artistic directors have included trumpeter, arranger and composer Tim Hagans and conductor Örjan Fahlström. Many famous soloists have visited the band over the years. Among others Joe Lovano, Toots Thielemans, Maria Schneider, Jonas Kullhammar, Miriam Aïda, Magnus Lindgren, Chris Potter, Randy Brecker, David Liebman and more.
The big band has been nominated several times for a Grammy and an American Grammy. The most recent nomination they received for the 2014 Grammy Awards was for the children's album Emil, Pippi, Karlsson & Co!
