Noel Scott

About

Known as Knoel Scott but born Noel Scott on July 18, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, US. Saxophonist (mainly Alto), composer, arranger, vocalist and dancer with the Sun Ra Arkestra since 1979. Known in the 80s and 90s as the ''Flying Knoel'', Knoel Scott continues to fascinate audiences with his acrobatic dancing, singing and saxophone virtuosity as one of the original continuing members of Sun Ra's Arkestra. In any of his rare individual performances as a leader, Knoel calls upon his musical roots in what was then the African American Renaissance village of Harlem to present a collage of Swing, AfroCuban, Modern Jazz, R&B Funk grooves in a celebration of the spirit and soulful joy of the Blues.
