Nikos Sotirelis is a Greek architect and sound artist who has been composing music under his own name and various non tracked ghost monikers.
Coming from a country which has been motherland of Iannis Xenakis, Anestis Logothetis, Jani Christou and more, his music is inspired by science, history, mythology, space, nature, acoustic ecology, cinematic architecture, lost tribes and the unknown.
His sonic experiments use elements of concrete music, modular synthesizers, early electronics, field recordings, radio art, early transmission technologies, magnetic tape loops, abstract distortions etc.
His solo practices question the notion of diffusion, transmission and memory and are highly responsive to place. He experiences his recording excursions as meditative sound walks that can unveil many unexpected sonic secrets.
His work includes sound pieces, site-specific installations, broadcasts, performances and publications. He is also founder of the design lab + art space nekubi and the experimental hip hop cassette label Nekubi Tapes
