Nikolai Alekseev (born May 1, 1956, Leningrad) is a Soviet and Russian conductor, People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2007).
Since 2000 he has been one of the conductors of the Honored Collective of Russia of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic = St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (under the direction of Yuri Temirkanov).
In the 2002/2003 season he was also the principal guest conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre.
Since January 2022, he has been Principal Conductor of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (he replaced Yuri Temirkanov in this post).
