American rapper, singer, songwriter, actress and fashion designer born December 8, 1982 in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Minaj gained notability by releasing mixtapes before her 2010 breakthrough, when she released her debut studio album Pink Friday and became the first female solo artist to have seven singles simultaneously charting on the US Billboard Hot 100. Previously worked as a waitress at Red Lobster restaurant in The Bronx, New York.
