He worked for Atlantic and co-founded WEA International Inc. in 1970.
Editor at Record Changer magazine and first to be appointed to teach in a history of Jazz course
for academic credit at a major US university, at UCLA in 1952.
Inducted posthumously into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 (Lifetime Achievement).
