He first recorded for Checker in Chicago, Illinois, in 1952 and 1953, followed by sessions for United in 1954 (unissued at the time), Vee-Jay in 1955, Abco in 1956, Atomic H in c. 1960, and K-Town in 1969 (all later sessions in Chicago as well).
