Born 12.July 1951 as Monika Schmidt in Letschin/Brandenburg, Germany.
Since 1972 she worked as professional folk-music singer. Many years in co-operation with composer Arndt Bause and writer/ex-husband Dieter Schneider. Debüt LP in 1975 was "Melodie Poesie" with the song "Kleiner Vogel". Monika was guest in all music shows on TV of German Democratic Republik. After a long break Monika is back today under "Monika Herz & David" (accompanied by her son David Herz).
