    Mister Loco

Formed in 1975. Mister Loco was an offshoot band established by previous members Jorge Garcia Castil, Rafael Acosta Córdoba and Javier Garza Alarcon from the Mexican rock band Locos. That same year, they won Yamaha Music Festival with their song 'Lucky Man' under category: 'Best International Band'. Also that year they released their self-titled album on Orfeon records. Their sound range somewhere in-between folk or pop-rock and funk, and lyrics are mostly sung in English.

In 2006, the band got a new revival, thanks to movie director Jared Hess, who is a good friend of Beck. Beck helped out Jared with the soundtrack [m871088] starring Jack Black, including 'Religious Man (I Am I Am)' as the main title song, also 'Bubble Gum' and 'Papas' to fit in the rest of the film.
