Jones won an amateur night at the Apollo Theater in the late 1980s, which led to a recording contract with Apollo Records.
She charted four times on the U.S. R&B charts 1990-2. "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)", was written by Marvin Gaye, and hit #21 in 1990, her highest charted song, followed a few months later with "Go Outside in the Rain", which hit #36.
