    Michael "Bami" Rose

    Saxophonist, flautist and percussionist, born on 28th September 1943 in Jamaica.

    Rose moved to the UK in 1962 where he initially played with Rico Rodriguez in Rico & His Band.
    He later joined Cymande until their split in 1975, then South African band Jabula, then Aswad for 7/8 years.
    In more recent years he played with Courtney Pine and Jazz Jamaica. He is currently part of Jools Holland And His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
    He acquired the "Bami" nickname in high school.
