Victor Talking Machine Co.'s first "house orchestra" (1890s through early 1900s). The Metropolitan Orchestra was directed by S. H. Kendle and Frank Kelly and existed solely to record for Victor. They used standard "stock" orchestrations but substituted a clarinet for the violin lead.
