    Blues singer and pianist, born August 13, 1915, in Waco, Texas, died December 2, 1962, in Stockton, California (cerebral hemorrhage). Walton moved to the West Coast to work outside music in 1939, and made his first recordings for Spire in 1949. He continued to record during the 1950s for Imperial, Specialty, Rhythm, Flair, and in 1961 for Arhoolie. His most well-known and most covered song is "One Room Country Shack" from 1952.
