Maynard Horlick

St. Louis, Missouri rockabilly artist also known as Mad Maynard Horlick. He was a part of the late 1950's early 1960's music scene in St. Louis. He would pantomime Elvis on Gil Newsome's rock show on KWK-TV in the late 50's. In 1958, as part of the duo of Maynie and Howie, he wrote and performed "Library Rock." A second original single, "The Strut", made it to the national charts in 1961 and appeared on Dick Clark's American Bandstand. He would also perform on Gaslight Square as Maynard and the Maniacs before having kids and becoming a salesmen. In the 1970's he would become a party DJ spinning his collection of 45's. Maynard was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame where his name is on the "Legends List." Mad Maynard Horlick passed away on January 5, 2022.
