    Swedish-Sámi artist, born Ida Amanda Märak on 17 September 1988 in Skarpnäck in Stockholm.


    The Samii people is a native people of Sweden living in the northern part of Sweden named Sapmi.

    She was born and raised in Stockholm. She is a human rights activist and committed to the rights of the Sámi people. She has participated in protests against mining in Kallak. In 2014, she recorded the album Mountain Songs and other Stories with the bluegrass band Downhill Bluegrass Band as a contribution to the mining debate. In 2014, she also participated in the TV program Sápmi Sessions on SVT together with Aki and King Fari Band. In the same year, she received the Såhkie Umeå Sami Association's youth scholarship. In Sveriges Radio's radio play "Diary from Gallok" from 2014, she can be heard as an actress but has also produced the music. In the spring of 2015, a follow-up to this was broadcast. Together with her sibling Timimie Märak, Maxida Märak has toured with the concert "Under asfalten ett fjäll".

    In 2015, she recorded the World Cup song Love last forever for the 2015 World Ski Championships together with Mando Diao. She also appears in the film adaptation of Glada hälsningar från Missångerträsk by Martina Haag and has previously toured with Giron sámi teáhter. For a year, a film crew from Sveriges Television followed Maxida Märak and her sibling Timimie, and on 24 November 2015, the results were shown in the form of the TV series Sápmi Sisters. Märak was the summer host of Sveriges Radio's program Sommar i P1 on 30 July 2015.

    In 2017, Märak collaborated with the football club Östersunds FK, where she was the artistic director with an in-depth knowledge of Sami culture. Märak also performed in the intermission at the Second Chance competition in Melodifestivalen 2018, where she performed her interpretation of Zarah Leander's classic Vill ni se en stjärna?

    In 2018, Märak participated in Jills veranda, where she shared experiences with Native Americans, and in 2021 she was one of the participants in Så mycket bättre.
