Max Morath was not a quadruped, but he appeared to have more feet planted firmly in more areas than do most human beings. For decades, he was simultaneously recognized as a foremost ragtime pianist, pop historian (via his PBS series and specials) and a most enduring and entertaining one-man show. Born October 1, 1926 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, died June 19, 2023, in Duluth, Minnesota.
