Master Joseph, with full name "Master Joseph and his Disciples", was a Danish 1960's band from Aarhus, formed by Ole Berg and his older brother Steffen - with bassist Karsten Rostgaard, guitarist Jens Erik Jacobsen and drummer Palle Wiinholt, who was later replaced by Jan Krarup. In 1966, the line-up was supplemented with boogie-woogie pianist Kim Nedergaard, who had to invest in a Vox organ! The name "Master Joseph and his Disciples" was inspired by Sir Henry And His Butlers. The band had many jobs, which were booked by a booking agency right from the start. Along the way, Master Joseph and his Disciples absorbed the new musical currents and from being a pure "pigtrådsorkester" in 1964, towards the end in 1970 it was characterized by both r&b and psychedelic. In addition to the jobs in pop clubs, the band also played as warm-ups for The Who and The Kinks in KB-hallen in Copenhagen, and had minor tours to both Germany and Sweden.
