Born: 20 October 1958 in Cowes, Isle of Wight, England, UK.

Hailing from the Isle of Wight, King began his musical career as a drummer, but is most famous for being the frontman, lead singer, and bass player of the funk-pop band Level 42, globally touring extensively over the years.

In the early 1980s, he revolutionised the slap and pop style of playing the bass guitar, becoming one of the most influential bass players of his generation, influencing many bass players that came after.
