DJ & producer from Berlin, Germany, born in 1973. Active since 1988 (initially as [a=DJ Hype (2)]), he emerged from Berlin’s Hip-Hop scene with the group [a=Cheeba Garden], then led the DJ collective [a=Phaderheadz]. Two-time German ITF DJ Mixing Champion (1998, 1999). In the 2000s, he formed a long-running duo, Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop with classical pianist [a=Jim Dunloop], blending funk breaks, rock loops, and old-school Hip-Hop with live keys. An avid 45s advocate, Marc Hype co-founded the Dusty Donuts label/crew (with releases including the Weapons Of Choice series and 7" edits), and is a regular in the global 45s community.
