Manuel Cano, flamenco guitarist born into a family where musical performance was the order of the day (his father played the guitar and his mother the baton), he received his first guitar at the age of seven at the hands of his grandfather. industrial expertise, a job he dedicated to helping his family, so he started his professional career as a guitarist, as early as the late 1950s. He won by opposition the flamenco guitar chair at the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Rafael Orozco" in Córdoba , which allowed him to devote himself to training while composing. He arranged twenty elepés, including Evocation of the guitar by Ramón Montoya (International Flamenco Disco Award). He toured Europe and Japan and gave concerts, with great success. In 1965 he received the Sabicas Guitar Award from the National Competition of Flamenco Art cordoba. In 1986 his book The Guitar, History, Study and Approaches to Flamenco Art, seen through his book, became an important work in the study of flamenco guitar and for which he won the research award that year in the Jerez flamencology chair. He was also a numbers scholar at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada and advisor to Unesco.1In 1992 and postustumo he received the Andalusian medal when he was considered a "great instrumentalist, scholar of Andalusian folklore, holder of the first official chair flamenco guitar at the Conservatorio Superior the Música de Córdoba and composer, who is in great director of the research of our folklore and a Master for future generations ”.
