Manuel Vargas Gómez, Gypsy Singer, better known in the world of flamenco singing under the artistic name of Manolo Vargas, was born in Cádiz in 1907 and died in Madrid in 1970. He wanted to be a bullfighter in his early youth. He began singing in his native Cádiz, where in 1952 he won first prize in the singing contest for Alegrías, and the following year the first in Andalusian singing, He was part of large companies, touring Spain and abroad. in 1956 he was in Mexico, where the twenty-one flamenco club bid him farewell with a tribute. Upon his return he joined the Tablao Zambra in Madrid, where he performed for many years, together with Juan Varea, with Pericón from Cádiz, and other great maestros, with this Tablao he toured the world, together with Pericón from Cádiz.
