Manifest Destiny was an early 1980s San Diego County punk band (not to be confused with the same-named 1980s metal band from Stillwater, Oklahoma) originally featuring singer Gary Paul, with one of the early drummers being Kevin Castillo. Mystic Records band released their self-titled debut, with Paul backed by Geoff Page, Max Spencer Brown, and the late Darryl Hall on drums. The band also released a 7-inch in 1984, "We Love Our Country, it's the Government We Can't Stand." The 1983 Slow Death cassette compilation, Our Blow Out, features the Manifest Destiny tracks "Circumstantial Evidence," "Ku Klux Kompany Man," and "Null." That lineup included brothers Jeff and Pete Shaw
