Man-Made Sunshine is the solo project of British singer Conor Mason, who is most known as the lead singer of the rock band Nothing But Thieves. The COVID-19 pandemic with its lockdowns and quarantines allowed Mason to reflect on his life, most notably “trapped emotions and unprocessed memories”. In order to be able to move forward, he put “pieces of [his] life” together and processed those by writing them down in the form of songs. His band members of Nothing But Thieves gave him their blessing and also provided persuasion to keep working on the solo project.
