American rapper/singer, born November 14, 1972 in Philadelphia, PA, USA, died July 29, 2020. Malik Abdul Basit, or Malik B. as he was known to fans worldwide, was a member of The Roots from the early 1990s to their 2000-2001 tour. He released one EP, entitled Psychological on emcee Haak Blast's publishing company "Future Blast Publishing". In addition to working on a follow up solo project, Malik B was a member of Beard Gang started by Jakk Frost, along with Freeway, Smif & Wessun, Reef the Lost Cause and TDB.
