Flemish singer of the late seventies and early eighties.
Born in Vilvoorde (August 10, 1947);
Started out with two/thirds of the trio Lamp, Lazerus & Kris after Kris De Bruyne had left that band.
Later went on to form a band called Luk Vankessel & Split with Jean-Marie Aerts and Stoy Stoffelen.
At the end of the seventies he went solo and recorded an album and handful of singles.
After signing with EMI in 1981, he released one more album and some more singles with the eponymous band Vankessel.
He is known for a couple of radio hits like "Mia" and "Hotel Paradiso".
