She is educated at the Theater Academy in Malmö. She has worked at Malmö City Theater, Norrbottensteatern, Stockholm City Theater, Strindbergs Intima Theater, Teater Tribunalen and Helsingborg City Theater. Lotta has also participated in a large number of revues and tavern shows and toured with the show Povel Naturbarn.
She has also participated in a number of film and television productions, including Falsk som vatten (1985), Affären Ramel (1985), Rederiet (1995) and Ted – för kärlekens skull (2018).
Lotta has written and directed several sets, such as En strut karameller at the Vasateatern and Det är synd om papporna with Unga Giljotin. She has also worked with radio theater and dubbing and as a theater teacher.

She is the daughter of Povel Ramel and sister of Mikael Ramel.
